Our freedoms and security, fought and died for by Canadians and their allies, are under attack. The biggest threats to our freedom are too much government, the eco-lobby, and censors posing as human rights commissions. Our biggest security threat is Islam.

Recap III

1. To solve the defects in our mental health system, we need to end the state sponsored insanity of allowing those afflicted to reject proven, humane treatment. I have no idea where we should care for them but I do know that it wouldn't take me very long to fire enough government paper pushers to find the money for it.

2. Lawyering and politics is a conflict of interest. Sorry.

3. The Teachers Pension Plan of Ontario has drained taxpayers of resources while taking on the appearance of a benign independent business. They have delivered mediocre results and opposed accountability in their core responsibility, education. Now they want to own your telephone service.

[June 20/08 update: The Supremes denied the claim from bondholders that they were getting shafted. The Teachers now own Bell. Just f-ing great. They deliver mediocre results in the classroom, their primary responsibility, they perpetuate mediocrity in MLSE (to the annual disappointment of Leafs fans), and now they are going to bring all this cutting-edge mediocrity to our phone company. Like Bell's service is so good now that they (and we) can live through the Teacher's bean-counter method of customer service. Darn it.]

4. The animal rights community is being overwhelmed by an anti-human cult that threatens our culture and way of life.

5. Environmentalism is the new communism.

6. If Obama becomes President of the United States, America and the world are screwed.

7. The term "Islamaphobia" is Muslim propaganda created by Muslims to excuse their violent excesses and to put us on the defensive if we complain about them. We ARE afraid of them, for many very good reasons. Phobias describe imaginary threats; the threat radical Islam poses is VERY real. They think they can murder 3000 people at one time, threaten the world on a daily basis, and we just need to get used to it.

8. Oil speculators artificially raise the price of oil and gasoline, irrespective of demand.

9. My first Hall of Shame member is Khurrum Awan, technically a Canadian, who demands that our country, Canada, submit to his hurt feelings and make special allowances for the culture of the country he or his parents left behind yet want to impose upon us. How dare he demand that we submit to his wishes (but how Islamic).

10. Native Canadians are no better or more honourable than we are. They have cultivated an image of themselves being some kind of benign race that was taking care of things just wonderfully until us nasty Europeans arrived. The truth is that they were just as preoccupied with war and conquest as any other race is or was. If they had somehow found gunpowder before Europeans arrived, they would have perfected killing each other and been more than ready and able to slaughter the new arrivals (us). Their violent territorial wars give lie to any claim of cohesive stewardship, much less ownership, of Canada prior to the Europeans' arrival. They fought over the land with each other, then another party joined the fray. We simply had gunpowder and they didn't.
