Music is Addictive

This is a 2 year old story but it's news to me and yet familiar; a study of music's effects on the brain done at McGill. The study reported that our brain releases dopamine when hearing pleasurable music. They say it's the first time anyone's found dopamine release in response to an aesthetic (not life critical) stimulus.

Music has always helped me relax. We all should turn off the tube and computer and chill with music more often.

Obama's first response to the "spying-on-friendly-heads-of-state" scandal was to deny. Deny that he had any clue about the program. Well, you know what? If this was GW Bush the Media Party would have released the hounds like never before. For one of them to release them on the Great Tide Lowerer is evidence that a) it's true, and b) cracks in the media-Obama love affair are developing.

Here is the left's hero now: a failed Lowerer of Tides, Promiser of Hope, and Saviour of Earth. Then he continues the scam by denying the wrongdoing, passing the buck like any common bureaucrat. The left hung George W Bush for everything his employees did. Now it's Barry's turn.

Even the most left wing paper in Canada, the Toronto Star, is running stories that imply Obama lied about when he knew of the leader-spying. Which shouldn't lead to a discussion about email dates, anyway. If you hang your opponent on every mistake of government workers during his term, you have to own these mistakes when you're in charge too.

The Obama administration is going to be remembered as a deflated balloon, for all the bombast and promises undelivered. Thanks, Mr Alinsky, Mr Soros, Mr Reid, Ms Pelosi, and all the brain cramped middle class dupes that invoked this disaster on the USA.

An Associated Press story tells how the diplomatic shit has hit the fan with Obama's administration. He has now been caught spying on his allies' leaders as well!

The story quotes several European leaders or spokespeople using un-diplomatic language to attack Obama. Has he finally exposed his Chicago politics, Manchurian-candidate roots for all to see? Will the Media Party finally stop covering up for his failures on the world stage and at home?

Leftist Bullying, IRS Style

Just as there is leftist bullying in the media as explained by Ben Shapiro, it exists in government bureaucracies too. The IRS being caught red-handed targeting conservatives groups is the latest example. It's also alarming, to think that conservative thought would be attacked by a supposedly neutral bureaucracy. No one apparently told anyone to do it, but it got done.

If honest, middle of the road liberals don't stand up and denounce this failure (and probable crime), they are guilty of disowning the concept of democracy itself. Guilty, as well, of an unbelievable level of stupidity.

As I've said before, non-wealth producers (generally liberals) cannot be trusted with political power. They invariably use it to suck more and more wealth from producers. They also work hard to make more and more people agreeable to the idea of riding on other people's backs. They are the moochers, and they've figured out how to control government without producing any wealth themselves.

With the IRS scandal, it's almost as though the moochers (liberals) have decided that they've conquered politics, so 'why not use the tax department to eliminate our opponents'?

Ben Shapiro has a new book out discussing the bully tactics of the left, which is to essentially paint the right as awful people without value. As he also says it only works with the complicity of the media which pretends to be neutral but acts to reinforce the "conservative don't care" message. 

This problem is compounded by the fact that the average voter has only the most fleeting familiarity with the facts. They instead prefer to consume the slanted pablum the media offers.

The left’s favorite bully tactic is painting its opposition as morally deficient and unworthy of being part of the conversation. The left uses this tactic on virtually every topic. Sequestration? It turns out that those dastardly right-wingers just want to hurt first responders and teachers. Gun control? Those conservatives just don’t care about dead kids. Gay marriage? Conservatives hate homosexuals. Once you paint your opposition as morally bankrupt, you don’t have to win the debate. You win by default. That’s the basis of the political correctness movement.
